The first day will be spent preparing for the deep inner work to come.  In the morning we will form a supportive community from which we can safely venture into the world of Spirit, and to which we will return and share our experience.  We will also explore the roles and responsibilities of the shaman in many cultures and how to apply them in our modern lives.

Days 2 - 3

Incubation-Illumination-Verification

Morning Day 2

 through

Day 3:

Sunset Day 3:

The morning will start with a group drumming and then Walking Meditation on the land.  The Walking meditation comes from the Buddhist tradition as taught by Tacht Nat Hahn and is a powerful way to unite Heaven and Earth though our being.

During the walking meditation, each participant will select a place on the grounds where they feel  personally powerful or safe. This personal spot is where they will remain for the period of solitude and conduct their inner work.  During this contemplative time individuals will evoke Spirit, by what ever name they know it, to guide them, mold their being, and find purpose.

Prayer and fasting (Incubation), are ancient practices found in every major religious tradition.  Whether  we think of Jesus in the desert, or a Native American on a vision quest, the process of seeking wisdom (Illumination), through solitary communion with our inner Spiritual guide is the same.  The personal vigils will continue through the night. This process will be both a challenge and a reward.

Participants will remain alone to absorb and comprehend (Verification), their experience before expressing it to the group.

We will regroup at Sunset to repeat the Sunset meditation and end the period of solitude..

Dinner:

We will gather for a nourishing meal to end our personal missions, break our fasts, and reform as a group.

After Dinner:

Steven, with the aid of his Spirit Guides, will lead us in a Shamanic experience. Then its off to sleep early for some much needed rest.

Day 4

Validation

Morning 9:00AM:

In the morning we will gather and Carlisle  will lead a group process.  Each member can bring forth what they experienced during their contemplative experience.  The group will share and reflect on each person's story thereby enriching and making it real in the world. (Validation).  What we create is completed when we share it with the world.

Then we will paint our drums to personally represent our experience and further capture the encounter as we take it with us out into the world.

Lunch:

  Afternoon:

End at 3:00 p.m.

We will bring the gathering to a close with group drumming and a closing shamanic journey.

Then with a closing ceremony we will put out the fire, bless the spirits that have guided us and each other.

Pleasant Journeys
